Setapp is an app bundling service that you pay monthly to access over 220+ applications. But which ones are good?

You might notice that Mac apps generally want you to pay them every month.

It is okay to give them $5 a month as it is not that expensive. However, when you start using 3–5 apps, the monthly bill starts to rise.

Setapp tries to solve this problem by bundling cool apps and giving you a fixed rate.

The trade is simple. You give $9.99, Setapp gives you over 220+ solid Mac applications.

It is hard to find the best Setapp apps as there are many. In this post, I will try to narrow the 220 apps to 8.

1 — Session

Although nearly every person in the universe knows it, there are still 10.000 people learning the Pomodoro technique every day.

You might know it, and even used it in the past.

As it is easy to write a Pomodoro app, there are countless of them on the web. However, the Session Mac app is one of the best that I have used until today.

It lets you create categories with gorgeous colors. The great thing about Session is that normally, after four Pomodoro Sessions, you take a 30 min break. However, you can customize all of this.

UI is very clean and easy to use. It has a website, app, and even Slack block! (For someone like me who unconsciously opens Reddit, this is great.)

I can create 30 min blocks in my daily routine to spend time on things that I have wanted to work on for a long time.

For example, I am writing this post in a Session block.

2 — Quit All

It is no surprise that just like I like to close the Chrome tabs after I have finished writing my essay, I like to close all apps after I am done with the day.

Quit All is a simple app that accomplishes this task with just one click or a shortcut.

3 — ClearVPN

The cool thing is that, If you want to use ClearVPN, you have to pay them more than what you will pay to Setapp, which includes ClearVPN and 200+ Mac app.

It is a simple VPN that also works on Netflix.

4 — PixelSnap

I first learned Setapp through Josh's CSS for JavaScript Developers course. He wrote about an app called PixelSnap, which is perfect for Frontend developers & Designers as it lets you check the dimensions of items with just one shortcut.

I use PixelSnap daily to check whether the application meets the design’s expectations.

5 — BetterTouchTool

There is not much to say about BetterTouchTool as it is an essential app for any Mac user.

6 — Diarly

I have always wanted to write regularly in a diary. With Diarly, you can write your thoughts in a markdown format and protect them from anyone with password protection.

7 — Dash

Sometimes my internet wants to go away for a couple of hours. In these situations, I can watch a show that I downloaded a while ago or read documents offline!

Dash is a super cool app that lets you search and download documents. It has an extensive library where you can find any framework or language.

8 — Bartender

After you have downloaded a couple of apps, you will realize that your status bar is filled with many icons.

With Bartender, you can easily customize your status bar and make it look clean. It is essential for Setapp users.
